Information supplémentaire
Producer of "charcuteries", we import frozen pork cuts and therefore apply for import permits at the Veterinary Services of the MOA in Reduit. "Rules & Regulations" around this permit not being clear, a letter was sent to the Veterinary Services for explanations since 20-June-2016, but we received no answer to date. Since 11-July-2016, we have been sending request for permit every week but none has been approved to date & we shall run out of stock of raw material by end of this month. Our demand for permit is around 15MT/month which is very far from what is being granted to one of our big competitor (more than 200MT over three months).

Dear Sir / Madam, As indicated by the Division of Veterinary Services, importers are encouraged to source locally when there is a surplus of production on the local market, whilst the policy decision of the Ministry not to give import permit in situation of excess supply. We trust this policy decision is more transparent now we therefore consider this obstacle as being resolved. Best Regards, The National Focal Point
